The short version
We never publish your real name or email. Every public profile uses a nickname and avatar you pick yourself. We store the minimum needed to make the planner work, and you can delete your account at any time.
What we collect
- Account data — email (private, used only for login/recovery), nickname, avatar choice, language preference.
- Trip data — the events you mark as Going, the trip plans you save, your IGNITE rankings.
- Anonymous usage — page views, button clicks, IGNITE submissions via a browser-side anonymous ID. No cookies are required for anonymous use.
- Optional inputs — anything you type into the Polar Bear concierge or trip planner form (budget, vibe, dates).
What we don't do
- We don't publish your real name or email anywhere.
- We don't sell your data to third parties.
- We don't use tracking cookies for advertising.
- We don't share your trip plans publicly unless you tap "share".
Third parties we use
- Google Places — to surface restaurants, hotels and activities around each venue.
- Google Sign-In — optional. If you sign in with Google, we receive your email and a unique ID. Your real name is never published.
- Resend — to send magic-link login emails and trip reminders.
- OpenAI / Gemini — the Polar Bear concierge sends your message to a large-language-model provider to generate replies.
- Google Analytics 4 — aggregated, anonymous page-view analytics.
Your rights (GDPR)
You can ask us at any time to export, correct or delete your data. Email us via the contact page and we'll respond within 30 days. Deleting your account purges your trip plans, IGNITE rankings, and email from our database.
How long we keep data
Trip plans and IGNITE rankings are kept as long as your account is active. Anonymous analytics events are aggregated and retained for 24 months. Deleted accounts are purged within 30 days.
